Here is an explanation of the contents of the pack & suggestions on how to use them:
The packet is split into 3 parts and all uses images of dominoes to teach the concept. The first part is addition counting on. The second is subtraction counting back. The third part is making sums.
Counting On & Counting Back
The first four pages is a game you can use in small groups or as a partner activity. I recommend laminating the pieces and then cutting it out. Students will draw a card, add/ subtract by counting on/ counting back and then write the answer. Following the game is 3 worksheets that are differentiated (starting easy and then progressing in difficulty). The worksheet is meant to be used as a follow up to the game. It is independent work that can be used as a formative assessment. You can also reuse the worksheets for math journal work if you wish.
The last part of the pack is a higher level thinking activity. Students will practice making different sums using domino picture cards. Laminate and cut out the cards. Students can use the pictures to make the sums. This can also be independent, partner work, or small group.
