Within this product, you will find the items I use in my own classroom to help students use the most efficient form of the strategy ‘counting on’ when using their fingers. Within the lesson, students will practice counting on using their fingers and they will begin to discover how to make that strategy most efficient. Students will continue this practice within an independent or partner [your choice] game, in which they roll number cubes, write an equation, and count on efficiently to add. The lesson wraps up with an exit ticket to help you assess student understanding and accurate use of addition strategies.
