These worksheets focus on counting on. The goal is to get the students to find the bigger number and then count on with the smaller number.
For example: 8 + 2 = 10
The bigger number is 8. Have the students circle the 8. I use the signal with touching my forehead and then saying, “put the 8 in your brain.”
The smaller number the show you on their fingers.
Go back and ask them what was the bigger number they stuck in their brain. Then have then use their fingers to count on.
