Animated Step-by-Steps are animated PowerPoints designed to address literacy, language, AAC and a host of academic goals. Each page includes a series of animations. Read the text up to the star … click … and see an animation of what you just read.
This is the Picture Communication Symbol (PCS) version of this resource.
Counting Snacks for Baby is an Animated Step-by-Step that encourages students to:
1. select a snack from a field of 5 (raisins, animal crackers, Gerber puffs, cookies, veggie sticks),
2. select a number (1 to 5) on a number line.
3. count out the previously-selected number of treats; each click causes one treat to
appear in the number line.
4. feed the baby (the items gradually disappear in order, 1-2-3 … after which the baby comments, ‘all done’.
A multifaceted star in the upper left corner of the header, navigates the program back to the snack choice page.
A patterning and color identification component has also been incorporated to allow for greater differentiated instruction (if needed) in 'mixed ability' classrooms.
This resource can be displayed on the ‘big screen’ (interactive white board, large screen TV using Apple TV & an iPad) or the ‘little screen’ (computer monitor, iPad using the Microsoft PowerPoint app. Please refer to the Animated Step-by-Steps blog for further clinical information.
