Counting Tray - Sets from 1 to 5

This is a fantastic activity for early learners, developing one to one correspondence to 5. The activity can be adjusted to be simpler by only using one particular number tray, or can be extended - collect matching items to place in zip lock bags to reinforce with real life objects after counting with images (or use these instead of picture counters). Items needed (15 of each): toy cars, toy ladybugs, toy frogs, marbles, acorns or nuts, chocolate buttons or smarties (consume after counting), jellybeans (consume after counting), small Easter eggs in foil, buttons, shells. Using objects such as these (and any others that are favoured by the learner - incorporate favourite building blocks - lego pieces, favourite fruits - grapes etc.)
