Counting Up Counting Back
Do your students have difficulty counting on or counting back? Are they hiding their fingers under the desk to do simple addition and subtraction? Do they rely heavily on the number line? Do you have students who have a difficult time with number sense and subtraction? I know I do. I created this product for my third grade intervention students who all have difficulty with subtraction. And guess what? They can't count backwards. Let me say they just loved this game. And it gave them a lot of opportunity to practice a skill that many thought they already knew....counting back and counting on! Can this be used by older or younger children? Sure...you may need to adapt for the needs of your particular group!
There are just a few things to know before you purchase this product...
*It is a small but mighty activity. You will get a lot of use out of this.
*This activity is intended to be used orally and is not a self-checking activity. A teacher, parent volunteer, or a very proficient counter should be your checks and balance.
*The terminology used is counting on/counting up and counting back /counting down.
*This is a very low prep activity.
*This is a super activity to leave for a sub, to use at centers, to use with a peer tutor, or to have a parent volunteer practice with students. It is VERY VERSATILE.
