This hands-on math resource for counting and skip counting within 1000 is a great number sense building option for your math centers or early finishers.
Four sets of twenty clip cards are included, each practicing a different counting or skip counting skill set. The pink set requires counting within 1000 by ones. The blue set requires skip counting by 2s, the purple set by 5s, the green set by 10s, and the yellow set by 100s. Differentiate the activity by pairing different students with different sets, use them at different points throughout your math unit, or combine sets for mixed practice.
To prepare these cards, simple print and laminate the set or sets you wish to use. Cut into fourths along the lines shown and provide each student with a clothespin to clip the correct answer.
These cards are easy to make self-checking. Simply use a marker to place a small dot behind the correct answer and students will be able to clip and flip over the card to check their work!
These activities can be used to practice the following Common Core Standards:
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.2.NBT.A.2: Count within 1000; skip-count by 5s, 10s, and 100s.
