This is a set of coin activities, by Sara Ipatenco, that help your students really grasp the concepts of coin identification and single coin counting. You get 4 counting coins worksheets – one with pennies, one with nickels, one with dimes, and one with quarters. Students look at the cent amount in each row and color the number of coins necessary to reach that cent amount. You also get 5 sets of coin sorts, including the heads and tails sides of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. Students cut out the coins and sort them on the included sorting mat. I make several copies of the mat and ask the students to glue the coins to it so I can use it as an assessment tool. These are great for extra practice, math stations, extra practice, morning work, or as a pre- or post-assessment. Enjoy!
