Depending on your pupils' level of reading, this kindergarten or grade 1 level activity aims to give young learners practice writing the numbers from one to ten.
The activity presents nine questions using the structure "how many ... can you see?" in each question. Based on picture drawings, pupils write the correct number in the black spaces.
The nouns used in the activity are in the plural form. Examples: cars, butterflies, tulips. Consequently, the teacher should familiarize the pupils with the plurals of nouns before doing the activity. Also, a review of how to correctly write the numbers from one to ten would be recommended before having the pupils attempt the activity.
This can be either a learning-center activity or a homework assignment.
An answer key is provided to allow for self-correction if the teacher so desires.
