PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

My first graders love using task cards! It is a fun and interactive way for children to practice many skills. In my classroom we use task cards in several different ways.

A class favorite is when I place the cards all over the room and students go on a hunt answering the different questions using their recording sheets. Students love to be detectives and find all of the numbers/answers! We also use task cards as a math center as well as these are great for early finishers. One final way I use them in my classroom is to help make transitions smoother and quieter. If we have a couple of extra minutes I will flip through the cards and as students answer the question correctly they line-up or walk back to their seat.

There are 30 task cards in this set. As well as two printables to check for student understanding or to be used as an assessment. A recording sheet as well as four different answer keys are in this pack to make grading and checking for understanding easier.

This set of cards includes 4 different answer keys. The answer keys include: counting by 1‘s, 2‘s, 5‘s and 10‘s. The different answer keys allow you to reuse these cards as student’s number sense gets stronger as well as it easily allows you to differentiate for the students in your classroom. Depending on the child you might ask them to count by different numbers. For instance, if a child is struggling with counting they might complete this activity using all of the cards to count by 1’s. However, to challenge another child in your classroom you might ask them to count all cards by 5’s. These cards allow you to be flexible to meet the needs of all of your students.

These task cards support the Common Core Standards:
K.CC.A.1: count to 100 by ones and by tens.
K.CC.A.2: count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1.)
1.NBT.A.1: Count to 120, starting at any number less than 120. In this range, read and write numerals and represent a number of objects with a written numeral.
