Research project designed for a New York State Global 9 or Global 10 course.
Help students practice social studies and communication skills by researching a country in the world and developing a persuasive presentation to encourage people to visit that country.
Project requires students to examine the geography, history, political system, economic system, social structure, and culture of the nation they choose to research.
The project is designed so that students may work individually or in pairs.
I used this project when teaching Global 9. Students were given a one month time frame to work on the project, and during that month, students were given about a week of class time and library time to research their topics and work on creating their presentations. However, you may adjust the project to fit your needs.
Included in this pack are two PDF files. The first file contains the project overview/requirements, a planning page for students, and the project's grading rubric. The second file contains a list for students of suggested countries to research
