Travel Adventure Book: Australia

Take your students on a trip somewhere new with this small book on Australia. This informational text is a great link for students studying the seven continents. It is also a great informational text resource. It gives students a chance to learn about Australia through text, pictures and a map.

The small book design is intended to excite students to read about somewhere new. It is not just an informational sheet, it is a book with real photographs of the place they are learning about and chapters on different topics relating to that place. As a student said to me, "I like the little books better" (than informational sheets I had created).

All writing and pictures in the book are from my own travels to Australia. After conducting pre tour research, traveling to the country and gathering more information from tours and experiences, I put it all together in a convenient small book format to share with young students. In the book, I have tried to highlight some of the more important topics I want students to know about the country.

Included in this small book are half page chapters on:
Cairns and The Great Barrier Reef
Time To Eat
Animals From Down Under
Ayers Rock
Fun Facts

In addition to this small book, I have created some worksheets for student to use with the small book. In the zip file you will find:
1. A comprehension reading guide
2. Writing pages- both blank and with a prompt
3. A compare contrast Venn Diagram
4. A nonfiction text feature hunt
5. Color picture cards from my travels

This is a must have product if you teach about the seven continents or global studies to younger students. Not only does it give students more specific information about Australia, it links to informational text reading skills as well.

Empower your students with the knowledge of another culture though this small book!
