In this adaptation of the “clock partner” concept, you give students time to walk around the room and pick a partner for each country on the provided worksheet. As students walk around the room picking partners, they gather information in the target language about each person they choose. After that, you have a great tool to use throughout the year every time you have an activity in pairs. Instead of worrying about letting students pick partners or assigning partners, you tell students which country partner they’ll be working with that day.
This activity allows you to review Novice Low goals of asking and giving basic information about different people. It gives students an opportunity to communicate in the target language authentically, and allows them to practice Spanish-speaking countries and nationalities.
Included in this product are three different worksheets with six Spanish-speaking countries on each page (18 Spanish-speaking countries total). That way, you can mix and match which countries you want to highlight, or repeat the activity to have students choose different sets of partners throughout the year.
