Country study India

Have your classroom saying namaste to this fun India country guide. As anyone who has ever traveled knows, a country is more than just the names of rivers, lakes and mountains. People, places and daily life are what are interesting!

Students travel along with Eva and Julian as they explore the city of Delhi in northern India. They visit local sights and learn about holidays such as Diwali and Holi.

This country study guide for India introduces your students to this Asian nation. It comes in two formats-- Powerpoint and PDF. You could show the Powerpoint slide to your class or project the PDF (starting on page 6 and going to page 21). This is a zipped folder containing four files total. You will only need two or three of the files (not all four) depending on the method you choose to present to the class. One of the files is a map of the world, highlighting India's location.

Included:

  • An India choice board.
  • A Powerpoint or PDF presentation on India.
  • A page to answer questions while the Powerpoint or PDF is being shown.
  • A comparison of the population of Indian cities vs US.
  • Pictures! Brightly colored pictures to capture the wonder of India!
  • A passport (cover, information page, interior pages) plus an India country stamp to cut and paste.

This packet is based on the time I spent traveling with my own children when they were in third and fourth grade. We visited many countries over three months. It was exciting to help them grasp the concepts of life in another country.

Thank you for reading-- I am constantly adding new countries for students to explore!
