In my travels during the summer of 2014, I took the scenic route. I traveled a different path ala Robert Frost north and south, which resulted in obtaining some great photos of county court houses in South Carolina. Initially, there were 12 counties, concentrated in the coastal area--old and new court houses are depicted in counties where a recent one is in use (unless I could not find the old one or it is no longer standing). Now, all 46 counties are represented.
None of the pictures you will see are copied from other sites. You may use these to supplement state history classes or civics and government classes. I use a slideshow loop in my classes. One lesson idea is to have young historians research a county--perhaps looking for a significant court case--and present to the class. One example is given for Greenville County which was explained to me by an attorney I met outside the new courthouse.
Some other states will be added if I have enough different counties to justify making a product.
