This pack contains a wide variety of activities for the virtue of COURAGE. The activities are for grades 2-5, but can be used with younger and older - just depending on your class. They can be used anytime, nothing is specific to a season/holiday to build COURAGE.
Courage T-chart (large and small)
Courage Poster – A poster that describes courage. Can be read aloud as a class.
Quotes – 5 quotes that speak to what courage is. These lead to great discussions about courage - how to have it and the importance of it.
Quote processing page – a ½ sheet for students to process what a quote means.
Shield - Students create their personal "courage shield"
Video/Stories – (sample answers included) There is 1 video and 2 storybook processing pages. The processing page helps them think about what the story says about COURAGE. Please make sure you view them prior to the students to ensure they are appropriate for your class. Answer keys are included with possible answers and an additional book list is included for more reading.
Courage Role Play – 12 situations that commonly happen (enough roles for up to 30 students.) Students can act these out to practice showing responsible choices and using language that shows courage.
100 Things I want to do - thinking of goals and what you want to accomplish that will take courage!!
Courage Debates – 10 discussion starters about courage – great for Morning Meeting! After discussing, the students can fill out the processing page with a partner.
Courage Word Wall – Common words used when talking about courage. Students can use for speaking and writing.
Courage at home - An activity for students to complete at home during the month.
