I’ve always loved the Court of King Caratacus and continually go back to this diddy when I teach cumulative songs. The only problem is that there are a lot of words and confusing concepts that are sometimes difficult to teach and explain to young learners. The original song is great as a tongue twister, but when I tried to teach it to English Language Learners (ELL) I was the one getting twisted up! This song became much easier to teach and understand when I made it into a story. I needed a visual and a story that would explain away some of the more complicated elements/lyrics of this song. So, I created this visual representation through PowerPoint which greatly helped my ELL students (and all of my students) to remember and internalize the very difficult words in the song.
This product includes:
*Several ways to work through and sing the Court of King Caratacus song: with single large pictures on a slide, with multiple pictures on accumulating word slides, and with no pictures on accumulating word slides.
*A detailed story with prompting for PowerPoint direction/changes. The story can be altered but gives a background and reasoning why all of the varied elements of the Caratacus song might be together.
*Slides can be rearranged and activities moved around or taken out to fit your needs.
