In this second book of Reader's Theaters for small groups, I have placed 5 scripts. They are: Father Sky and Mother Earth, How Coyote Got His Yellow Eyes, How Crow Brought the Daylight, Owl and Woodpecker, and The Navajo and the Astronaut. Each of these scripts is based on a Native American Legend. They were intended for Native American month in November but could be performed anytime. You can buy each of these individually for $2.00 - $2.50 OR you can buy all 5 for $8.
The preview will show you how many students are in each play as well as a page of the script. All plays are written for 4 - 6 students because I find that an ideal number for small groups and centers. I use reader's theaters to encourage my students to practice fluency. It is a fun way to do something that they need. My scripts are in black and white with only the occasional color picture on front so they are easier and cheaper to photo copy.
The problem with many other reader's theaters is that students spend a lot of time waiting for their part. When you have a small group they get more practice in and less off task behaviors take place. My name is Melanie Whitesides but my store name is Wonbyone and, if you like this pack, you can look for more at my site. I hope that your students enjoy this script as much as mine did. Let me know how things go!
