An interesting series of science Thanksgiving experiments can be run using fresh cranberries or canned cranberries. Students will enjoy extracting the juice from cranberries in this set of hands-on wet labs! Cranberry juice is an acid base indicator so it turns color in common acids and bases. All the activities are completely described and include all the procedures and result tables. All the activities below are included in this resource.
-preparation of cranberry juice extract
-use of cranberry juice as pH indicator
-mass, volume, and density of cranberries
-layering of cranberry solutions
-dialysis of cranberry solutions
-chemical analysis of cranberry solutions.
Also included are an observation and prediction worksheet and a
cranberry mass and volume math worksheet.
