Loving the game Cranium, I modified a version for the Spanish Classroom to use as a review. Students really enjoy this game. This particular review is for Chapter 2B of Realidades II. It reviews vocabulary, demonstrative adjectives, adjectives as a noun and the preterite tense. The pdf includes complete instructions for play.
I usually use this the day before the chapter test. Students work in small groups of 3 to 5. This also makes for a good sub plan day because all of the answers are on the gamecards. As long as the students have played the game before, and the basic instructions are listed on the board, they play quite independently and really enjoy themselves. They light up when they see the Cranium materials out for the day!
My Cranium chapter games have 6 categories:
1. acting (vocab)
2. constructing with clay(vocab)
3. drawing (vocab)
4/5 & 6 – Focus on the chapter grammar
You will need:
1. Clay/PlayDough (If you do not have any, substitute another acting or drawing category)
2. 1 dice /group (No dice? Have students go through categories without rolling)
3. Individual whiteboards or scrap paper for the drawing and grammar categories
4. Gamecards (included)
What other teachers have said about these Cranium Reviews:
“What a great review!”
“My students’ new favorite game!”
“The students are asking to play again at every opportunity.”
