This six-question viewing guide will keep your students focused on the most important parts of the engaging Crash Course video. The video addresses the five roles of political parties: recruiting candidates, nominating candidates, mobilizing voters, facilitating electoral choice, and influencing federal government. It discusses the problems with the primary system and how independents can run for office.
It's a ready-to-go homework assignment for your Civics or Government students, or, if you’re a one-to-one school, an ideal quiet time activity, which will keep students engaged while you conference with others.
Simply make the link available to students and distribute the viewing guide. There are two options: one with time stamps and one without--a great way to differentiate. You can also access this file digitally, via Google Drive, which will allow you to edit it.
Aligned standards can be found within the introduction letter within this document. It includes an answer key with time stamps for reference.
