I created the "Crazy Clues" Competition as a whole-class game to fall back on at the end of a busy double period with my ELA middle schoolers.
It has turned out to be a big hit with my students, reaching every one of them and providing both critical thinking and a high level of engagement that works on several levels, including listening skills, problem solving, vocabulary knowledge, and........competition.
