Need a hands on project to get your students excited about Social Studies? Try this product that will engage their minds as they are given the task of creating their own country. But that's not all- there's rules (and hidden learning!) involved:
Working alone, with partners or in small groups, this product is designed to guide your students to learn important vocabulary such as absolute location, relative location, climate, region, natural resources and more.
They will develop map skills and be asked to produce both a relative and absolute map of the country they have created.
They will develop public speaking skills and brainstorm how to present their work.
Included are engaging questions to guide their thinking, checklists for both their presentation and group accountability, definitions for teachers who made need a refresher on vocabulary prior to teaching Social Studies and a handy rubric to assist in marking the entire project.
