In my classroom, we discuss the importance of our picture in our writing. At the beginning of the year, we start our narrative writing instruction by teaching our kindergartners that their picture can help them with their writing. We talk about creating a character and a matching setting to show what you have written.
This product gives your students multiple settings to draw to help them remember the details they can add into their writing. Each setting (zoo, outside, school) comes with a character that needs details added to create a setting so an observer could know the setting without asking questions. Each setting has two options for drawing...the picture in a regular rectangular box similar to writing paper or a rectangular box that looks like a polaroid picture.
