PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The year is 430 B.C.E. and Athens is enjoying a Golden Age, a period when the city-state experienced peace, prosperity and a flourishing of culture. Your students are artisans of Athens and the Council, the governing body, has hired them to update the currency to reflect the culture of the Golden Age.

The product includes a detailed direction sheet with seven requirements, suggested topics and a one-page rubric, along with four currency templates (half page and full page options). The product also includes a two-page chart to help students understand the currency of the United States Dollar and a teacher answer key.

Your students will love this project! Even though their illustrations and writing must be based on evidence, there is a lot of room for creativity.
