Students will be tasked with creating their own government by designing the format for a successful government. They will discuss and identify the branches, military, rules of society, taxes, etc... The students will work in a group and collaborate to create a successful and enduring government.
This project is not only designed to have the students work with the basic fundamentals of government, but to also work on collaborating and compromising.
The "Devil's Advocate" section is a place for the teacher to analyze each group's progress and pose some questions about their government or policies that would create discussion or debate within the group.
This activity has gone extremely well in my government classes and students seem to really enjoy the project.
