Are you searching for a creative way for students to demonstrate their understanding of the parts of speech? If so, this grammar review project is perfect for you!
The project focuses on:
singular & plural common nouns
singular & plural proper nouns
past, present & future verbs
With Humanities Hub's Parts of Speech Grammar Review: Create Your Own Mad Libs®, students are led through a step-by-step writing & grammar project. They begin by composing their own story (story ideas are included in the packet), then highlighting and labeling specified parts of speech in the story, and finally transforming the story into a Mad Lib® to trade and share with their peers. Everything students need to create a real-deal Mad Lib® is included in this packet. The rubric is included for easy teacher grading.
Our 8th graders always love this activity, and, it is one that can be used with many different grade levels. Students have a ton of fun creating and sharing their work and feel very proud that they can make their own word game. We would recommend doing a couple of Mad Libs® word games with your class before having them create their own.
