OBJECT BOX - For Adults with Aphasia
Do you have an object box? Well, you should! Have junk laying around your house that you've been meaning to throw away? Don't! Instead, put them in a box or plastic container!
An object box contains so many activities in one little box and I have done the hard part for you...
Your download includes the name of each object, foils for each object (to target reading comprehension!), a black and white picture of each object, and a colored picture of each object! It also includes activity ideas such as: Separating objects by category, naming similarities/differences, naming objects, identifying objects by name/function/adjectives... THINK OF ALL THE POSSIBILITIES! You can target all aspects of language; auditory comprehension, expressive language, reading, and even writing (have them writing similarities, the names of categories, names of objects, and the list goes on! Just use your imagination!
The download I created features 24 common objects that you may have laying around you home:
All you have to do is gather the objects (the dollar store is also great)! BUT to make your box even better, choose 12 of your objects to find duplicates of so that you can do things like similarities/differences. For example, if you have a red brush, go find a brush of a different color or different shape to throw in your box!
If you have different pictures or objects you want to use feel free to edit your download and print! The more creative the better!
