Use our power point to lead your students through the project! Anyone can teach - substitutes, volunteers, teachers and art teacher alike!
Students create a unique character using descriptive words, sketching, painting and finally Seussy style outlining.
First students quickly create two lists of descriptive word to describe how their character looks and how they act.
Using their brainstormed words, and our included Thought Starters printable, they draw out some ideas. They then sketch out their whole character.
Next step is tempera paint for color and style.
Finally - adding lines in a Seuss-like style give their character the finishing touch.
Mount on colorful construction paper and you have a great display for Dr. Seuss' birthday or Reading Across America Week.
