When teaching my students about how super PACs influence elections, I realized that the topic can seem a little impersonal. In order to make super PACs more relate-able I had my students create their own super PACs!
Each student was asked to name their super PAC, give it a slogan, and to think about what issues their group would support and how they would support them. They came up with issues that related to their jobs, future careers, personal interests, and political beliefs. Their responses were great and I even have a few posted in my classroom!
