** Brain Break Activity for Classroom Teachers**
Tabata WORKOUT CREATION
Tabata – a constantly varied (variety) of functional movements (exercises) that are performed at a high intensity.(HIIT: High Intensity Interval Training). Tabata targets the anaerobic energy system, which is the system responsible for short, high intensity exercise such as sprints and it also targets the , which is the system used for endurance exercise such as long, slow running.
1. Short workouts (6 Movements: 20seconds/10seconds rest ratio)
2. Intense (Remain between Intensity levels 3-5)
Have students create a TABATA workout in small groups on construction/cardstock paper, once they are completed: TYPE and print for future use! For INSTANT ACTIVITY/BRAIN BREAKS have a stack of work-outs spread out for small group activity. Once the group completes the WORK-OUT, exchange workouts and complete as many of the circuit sets as they can as a group!
