Product Description
This is a great research and writing pack to use during an animal or insect unit. My students loved being able to create their own bug as well as its habitat. They used materials they found outside to make the habitat and they turned out really cute! We display the reports with the clear, plastic insect cubes (links to purchase materials are on the Teacher Notes page) on a bulletin board.

This pack uses the book, Bug Zoo, by Andy Harkness, which is a great picture book about how real bugs would rather be kept outside and not inside in jars. Students have two options with this pack: they can use an actual type of insect as a topic OR they can create their own type of insect.
