Create a Guide to High School Project

This editable document is a comprehensive project packet in which students will create their own Guide to High School. It includes the project directions, detailed steps, teacher grading rubric, research note-taking, planning/pre-writing graphic organizers, rough-draft writing space, bibliography, glossary, and peer-editing worksheets. The Word document can be edited to include personalized deadlines, change student directions, etc.

This is an excellent assessment after teaching students essential strategies like note-taking, studying, organization, time-management, etc. Through this project, teachers can assess students' understanding of these themes, as well as their ability to create and organize an informational text and use imperative verbs in writing. Would be great in a study-skills class, AVID, ESL class, or English class!
