Primary Learning Targets based on the Ohio Academic Content Standards for Social Studies:
6.15: Explain the laws of supply and demand.
6.15: Identify some of the factors that lead to changes in the supply and demand for a product.
This project also covers CCSS for ELA, including:
W 6.4: Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.
L 6.2: Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.
Using knowledge of supply & demand, students will create a restaurant name, menu, & sound pricing! They can choose to focus on Mexican, Italian, baked goods, or barbecue with step-by-step scenarios provided. Additional scaffolding by way of graphic organizer and sample exemplar menu. Support for teachers includes answer key & rubric.
