After learning about absolute monarchies, I like to give my world history students the opportunity to put what they have learned into practice. I separate my class out into groups of 3-5 depending on the number of students that are in the class. This assignment will give the students the opportunity to form alliances and make decisions that will best effect their country and that of their allies. You as the teacher can decide whether or not you want to declare a winner at the end of the debate. As a teacher, this will benefit you by providing you a simple activity with almost no prep, or give you the basis for a debate style assignment you can do in your classroom.
