This is a highly engaging and creative project, inspired by the concept of "Caine's Arcade" (on youtube), that allows your students to show what they know about geometry and measurement. Students will build an original arcade game that includes shapes with specific measurements (such as a certain perimeter, area, circumference, etc...). Then, they get to invite students from other classrooms in your school to come and play their games. I always throw in an extra credit incentive for my top "arcade cash" earners. I use this project with my 6th graders, at the end of a measurement chapter, as an assessment tool. This project is a HUGE hit each year with my students and the entire school.
