Create an Inviting School Computer Lab. I did it at a district Middle School Alternative School.
Use your technology and digital media strategically and capably in your computer lab. Besides having students improve their keyboarding skills on a daily basis, you can have your students researching, learning to use the internet and search engines effectively, producing and publishing short research projects that are rich in content knowledge. Your students will love your teaching style.
Student-made projects provide the extra benefit of reinforcing what is currently being learned in the academic classes. Also, since the teacher can’t be at more than one computer station at a time assisting students, students-helping-students provides students with opportunities to interact and collaborate with others and further reinforces our lab philosophy of “Together We Teach”.
This resource is a twelve slide PowerPoint that walks you through how to create an inviting school computer lab.
Please take a moment to assess the general quality of this resource. I'd love to hear from you. Thanks!
