This step-by-step guide was made for my students to learn the steps to creating a box and whisker plot.
I recommend that the students write on the guide as they work on a problem. The guide includes places for the students to place a check mark after they complete the step. This keeps the students on track. The guide is an excellent way for the students to slow down and read the directions, so the guide serves more than one purpose!
Also included in this product is a flow map to show the steps in a broader sense. The students can use the flow map to help guide them with box and whisker plots as well.
Finally, this product includes a checklist for the students to make a poster (or mini-poster) of a box-and-whisker plot from a set of numbers. This helps the students complete another problem and makes sure that they include everything in their answer.
