Product Description
Great to use for sentences expansion, word choice, imagery practice, vocabulary building, creative writing, descriptive writing practice, or a sub plan activity. Great for a 'rainy day' activity or for reinforcing vocabulary, creative writing, and word choice.

In this activity, students get creative by re-thinking basic sentences and turning them into something special using imagery. There are 25 sentences that students re-write and expand. The second page has an imagery word bank: sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell words. The words range from easy (6th grade level) to difficult (SAT practice words). Simply copy this handout front and back and re-use for each class.

You could even extend this by having students use the sentences they create in a writing assignment.

Get your value out of this download. The word bank alone could be used for other activities: creative writing, poetry, student reference, poster/word walls, and vocabulary.

An awesome activity! I've had fun using this with 6th grade students and with 12th grade AP English students! It is great for differentiating because students expand the sentences to their own ability level and the word bank has over 160 WORDS to help out students.

Included are:
- Student handout
- 25 sentences
- Directions
- Model Sentence Example
- Vocabulary page with descriptive words for each of the senses
