WOW! This one is a doozy of a Language Arts activity that combines original student generated computer designs with story writing/telling.
Using an existing chapter book as a stimulus( as suggested in this packet) or solely for the use of creative writing, this new resource shows, step-by-step, how grades 3-6 students can design, create, and print their own illustrations and use them over and over with a variety of purposes, from mystery writing, humor, family experiences, biographies, or simply unique and wonderful stories
This packet also contains 24 life size, full color original illustrations created by me entirely on the computer, without the help of Adobe Photoshop. Students who don't draw may see this as a way of transferring the images they see in their minds, onto paper, without picking up a brush, or pencil, or crayon.
There are so many ways students can show their creative sides, and Creating Illustrations On The Computer is certainly one of them. Combine this with solid reading and writing exercises and you definitely have a purposeful classroom project
Please take the time to preview some of the other resources in my store, LOOK BOTH WAYS. Tradition is not a vocabulary word I use frequently. Creativity is.
P.S. Look at the Preview illustration. This illustration is just one of two illustrations that show the barn scene. To whet your appetite, something may be lost in the barn. Show the illustration to your students and ask them what it might be.
