This can be used during whole group activities or during mathematics stations. Students write a word problem, draw it out, fill in the ten frames accurately, write the number sentence, and write the key words in the word problem that told them what operation to perform. For example, they might write "in all" or "altogether" if the operation is addition or "difference" if the operation is subtraction.
There are two versions. The first one is for multi-step problems and includes an extra tens frame. The second one is for single step problems.
