Product Description
I use this brainstorming page to help my students plan out their ideas when they write their picture books using figurative language. Students are learning the seven different types of figurative language that are assessed on the Kansas Reading Assessment, and completing a creative writing that is naturally differentiated for students. My super strong writers have no limits on their creativity for this project, and my lower students are threatened by the assignment because it is a picture book meant for young children. We then walk to the neighboring elementary school and read the books to first grade students.
