PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Interdisciplinary Studies: Physical Education and English Language Arts

This activity gives students the opportunity to create their own physical education game utilizing skills learned throughout the school year. Students also have to write a descriptive essay about their lesson plan (to be turned in to either the PE or English teacher).

This lesson can be taught through both the PE and English teachers or can be done just in Physical Education. Having students combine other studies into PE helps students, families, and the community understand the importance of Physical Education; and how it is equally important as other academic classes. Physical Education is no longer the previous "gym" class where a ball is rolled out, rather a place to teach our students the importance of being physically active and healthy for a lifetime.

What is included:
- Directions with objective to be handed to students and shared with families
- Outline of what should be included in essay
- 100 point Rubric
- Parts of a Game Card (to be printed on a 5x8 index card)
