3 differentiated worksheets used during my non-fiction study that focused on different text features.
First 2 worksheets are fairly similar - with minor changes to the wording within the graphic organizer for added support. (Instead of "TOPIC" and "PAGE #" it is featured as "What is this page about?" and "What page is it on?"
Worksheet 3 provides visual supports for students who need additional cues to complete independently. In addition, all animal names are listed in the "Animals" column of the table of contents. Students will just have to match the picture of the animal to its name on the chart. From there, students will look back in the story to match what page number each animal is on. These pieces are also included for students to cut and glue (or they can write them in).
The top of the worksheet allows all students to identify and fill in the title of the book, which should be a skill they are able to accomplish. For lower level students, they can be prompted to point to the title on the cover page of the book and then copy it.
