Visual schedules can help children know the order of events during a day. This file includes reasons why a teacher or caregiver would want to use this resource, as well as a template and sample photos.
What is a visual schedule?
• A vertical or horizontal strip with pictures displaying what will happen in a sequence from first to last
• Can be made with a variety of household or office materials and pictures from clipart, online stock photos, software such as Boardmaker, and/or digital pictures.
• Picture schedules may use words paired with the pictures
• Some schedules may be words only, if the participant using it is a reader.
