This set includes 5 vocabulary posters (regular sized printer paper) for types of angles: acute, obtuse, straight, right, reflex. It also has a page that can be copied multiple times to create a deck of cards. I taught this game by introducing angles using Chinese folding fans. Students were able to see the size of each angle by manipulating their fan. I would show them one of the vocabulary posters, and they would create the angle with the fan and hold it in the air. I was able to quickly assess each student’s knowledge of angles as we progressed through the lesson.
I copied the card deck set multiple times on cardstock, each set a different color. I made 5 sets and broke the class into 5 groups, each with a set of cards. Each group was to put their cards in a stack face down and select 4 cards. They set the 4 cards face up and as a group worked with Anglegs (could use toothpicks or popsicle sticks) to make a shape that had those 4 types of angles. The shapes could contain more angles, or exactly the angles they chose (if possible). This lesson was very successful!
I would greatly appreciate comments and ratings!
