Students with language learning disabilities often struggle with problem solving skills. In this unit we explore creative/divergent problem solving skills. These concepts are often part of our gifted program but do not reach our students with special needs. In this unit we cover the difference between discovery and invention, how an inventor thinks, a variety of literature is used to provide examples of divergent thinking and a number of activities are provided to give your students plenty of opportunity to be a divergent/creative thinker. I have had great success with my language students and wanted to share these ideas with you. Have fun being creative!
