This is a complete 50-minute spelling lesson which consists of 21 PowerPoint slides.
The lesson introduces students aged 11+ to a creative and zany spelling approach called The Picture-Story Method, which shows students how to use their verbal and visual smarts to remember the spellings of words with more than one syllable.
The Creative Spelling Techniques series has the following learning objectives:
To develop independent spelling strategies
To provide active approaches to spellings
To encourage whole-brain approaches to learning and remembering spellings
To make the learning of spellings fun and creative
To develop creativity and imagination
To improve confidence in spellings
The Picture Story Method is the first lesson in this series, and more lessons will be added to TPT soon.
There is also a parent-pupil Learning to Spell Workbook which consolidates and extends the learning of this particular method further. This book is now availble for purchase from my TPT store.
