Description
Use these 126 critical thinking cards to help your students gain fluency with lateral thinking.
Similar to the board game, TriBonds, each card requires students to come up with one word that links the three words on each card together. For example, the words, “camp,” “place,” and “wild,” are linked by the word “fire.” These cards can be used by students from grade four all the way to adults (try them yourself!).

The cards are numbered from 1-126, but can easily be divided into four sets of 32 cards each. The answer sheet has room for 32 answers, so simply print as many as you need. The answer keys are also divided into sets of 32, so you can use just one set of cards along with the corresponding answer key. In addition, there are four cover cards and a set of blank cards which your students can use to make up their own!
There are many ways to use these cards. They would be great at a center or as part of a game. Another option is to use one card at a time with a small group or the entire class.

Here’s what teachers are saying:
✏️ "I use thinking puzzle slides like this at the beginning of each Zoom class to get my gifted young students thinking. Sometimes I have them put their answer in the chat so that they don't see other answers first. Other times I take volunteers. Either way, students then explain their answer choice. It gets kids thinking creatively and logically and expands vocabulary, helping those who didn't think of the answer as well. Thank you!" -Jennifer M.
✏️ "These are AWESOME! I use them at he beginning of ELA to get the students thinking! They LOVE trying to figure them out! I love all of Rachel Lynette's products!" -Dawnell G.
✏️ "Extremely multi-functional cards! We have used in lessons about main idea and supporting details, to kick-start our morning message, as a classroom management tool to gather the students' attention, etc." -Larua R.
