There are many times during the year when a student has completed their final draft of an assigned piece of writing. They invariably ask, “What should I do now?” I love to have students writing every day. It is imperative that they get opportunities to write about what they want to, not just assignments our curriculum dictates. I let students write a creative piece of their own choosing and give them this checklist to guide them once the rough draft is hammered out. This gives them the chance to think thoughtfully as they revise and edit. I hope you and your students find it useful.
